Air Preheater is more widely used than any other type of heat exchanger for comparable service in the steam generating industry. APH on a large utility boiler often accounts for about 10% of the unit’s thermal efficiency. Its performance is so critical that just a 10F change in gas exit temperature can change the boiler efficiency by a quarter of a percent. The major advantage of using an APH is that it is the least expensive heat-recovery device available that is capable of operating in the harsh environment of a fossil-fueled boiler’s flue gas exhaust.

ECONOMISER
The flue gas discharge from steam/waste heat boilers contains considerable heat recovery potential. This energy in these flue gases can be used for preheating feed water and improve thermal efficiency of boilers by 5-7%.
Economiser has assembly of tubes, these tubes can be of different types depending upon the application of economiser.
